The symposium will feature new interpretations not previously published or released by serious researchers and members of the Amelia Earhart Society. Plans include a viewing on Friday morning May 17, of the 1943 RKO film,"Flight for Freedom,"starring Rosalind Russell and Fred MacMurray, and in which Earhart's husband, George Putnam, had more than a passing interest; a full two days of panel presentations by research scholars with audience participation encouraged; a reception Friday night; a formal dinner Saturday night featuring special guests and International Museum Day; and a guided bus tour on Sunday of the Oakland-Alameda sites where Earhart and Noonan conducted their activities. The mission of the Amelia Earhart Society and the Symposium is to encourage the release and conclusive determination of any additional facts surrounding the last flight of Earhart and Noonan, and their disappearance. Laura McLaughlin, former Archivist, International Women's Air & Space Museum, - George Putnam, Earhart's husband. 3. Jerry Hamilton, pilot, Earhart researcher - Fred Noonan, Earhart's navigator. 4. Carol Osborne, aviation historian, Earhart author - Videotape interviews of Earhart personalities 5. William Larkins, pilot, internationally highly regarded aviation historian, aircraft photographer, and author -Lockheed Electras and Pan American Airways aircraft. 6. Cam Warren, combat radio operator USN WW2, professional writer, highly knowledgable regarding radio technology - Radios, CAPT Lawrence Safford, led breaking of Japanese codes in WW2, and Earhart researcher. 7. Ed Melvin, CAPT USN (Ret), career aircraft engineering officer, USN aircraft contract officer - Art Kennedy, close friend of Earhart and worked on her airplane. 8. James Beebe, former USAF avionics officer, aircraft accident investigator - Multiple aircraft (Beeby, Klaas, Brink and Donohue have especially been proponents of the multiple aircraft theory. In later life, Fred Goerner also thought this was a possiblity as did James Golden and some Lockheed staff.). 9. Joe Klaas, Lt. Col., USAF (Ret), combat fighter pilot WW2, professional radio journalist 20 years, writer and Earhart author - Eyewitness comments, Irene Craigmile Bolam. 10. Woody Rogers, former US Army medic, Earhart investigator, highly knowledgable re US and Japanese aviation in Pacific - Taroa Atoll, possible site of Earhart aircraft. 11. Tod Swindell, professional screen writer and producer, - Cochran, Spellman, Kelley, Irene Craigmile Bolam, forensic comparison between Earhart and Bolam. 12. Guy Zajonc, professional film producer, explorer, searched for Earhart's plane on bottom of sea near Howland Island.
